Last week I had a plan.
And the plan involved cheese.
And lots of it.
I knew I was going to want to stay in on Friday night (since the work week was kicking my butt) and I knew I wanted to make a scrumptious platter of goodness for Adam and I to dig in on.
I made my own spin on a cheese board, as most traditional cheese boards only include meat and cheese.
Since I wanted to add my own healthy twist on this classic, I added veggies and hummus for a nutritional kick.
On our board we added the following:
-Green apple slices
-Organic red grapes
-San Marzano Cherry tomatoes
-Truffle honey (we snagged this on our honeymood, BEST PURCHASE EVER!!!)
-Fruity, green olives
-Slices of fresh, french bread
-Cheeses: a vanilla, blueberry soft goat cheese, a mild goat cheddar & marinated mini mozzarella balls
-Meats: Prosciutto de parma & sopresatta
The final product…
Served on a wooden pig platter we got on our travels to Sonoma, California last February.
AKA – my perfect Friday night in 🙂
We paired it with a Pinot Noir from Mark West private label.
What is your favorite cheeses, meats, etc. to put on a cheese board?
