Coconut Milk Creamer and Positivity

December 31, 2015
'I painted this Buddha to symbolize positivity, peace and happiness. '

Good morning out there!

Starting this morning off making some coconut milk coffee creamer.  I started making my own creamer about three years ago.  When I became more cognizant of all the unnatural, GMO ridden, chemical laden foods and products out there, I turned to a natural lifestyle.  Yes it is easier to buy already made foods, but I would rather put in the extra time to make my own foods and be able to pronounce the ingredients that are in them. Making my own coffee creamer was an easy start to this lifestyle.

So here it goes!

This Blender Bottle keeps the creamer fresh and blends it easily!

This Blender Bottle keeps the creamer fresh and blends it easily!

Ingredients:

-1 can full fat coconut milk

-equal parts vanilla almond milk (I only had coconut milk on hand which is yummy too!)

-1/4 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt

-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (or pumpkin pie spice)

-small splash of vanilla extract

-3 stevia packets

Directions:

  1. Put everything into the blender bottle and shake it up! And to quote Ina Garten, “how easy is that?!”

Some inspiration for the day:

PositivityPositivity.

My motto for the New Year.

It can be easy to get wrapped up in negative thoughts, ideas and people. We have powerful capabilities to choose positive emotions and ways of thinking.

Some important things to remember:

Accept where you are

It can be easy to beat yourself up about the things you want to change about yourself or your life. It is important to remind yourself of all the things you’ve done and accept the place that you are in. Accept that you have feelings. And do not judge yourself for having those feelings.

✨ Make goals and write them down!

I am constantly writing things down, whether it’s in my daily planner or Post-it notes. I have notes for my notes 🙈 It is important to write down your goals so you can visualize the things that you want in your life and work towards them.

✨ Practice gratitude

I went to a convention once and was told to write down three things that you’re grateful for before the day begins. This small task reminds you of all the blessings in your life.

✨ Smile more

Sounds easy, right?  There is scientific evidence that if you smile it will make you feel happier.

✨  DO the things that you love

Whether it’s listening to music, shopping, doing an art project or going for a walk at the beach. I love painting, cooking and scrap booking. I need to do these more!!! Don’t think about it, just do it!

✨ Surround yourself with positive influences

It is important to surround yourself with people who want to uplift you and support you and vice versa. We are susceptible to the emotions around us. Negativity rubs off. Do what you’re comfortable with. Learning to say ‘no’ is something I’m just beginning to practice. Stay true to yourself. Keep positive spirits close.

✨ Treat your body like a temple

Nourish your body with healthful, nutrient dense foods.  Do something active every day, or aim for five days a week.

Say positive affirmations

Tell yourself what you want. Self affirmations can help you change your mind and your life. It is simply a pep talk for yourself. Try it!

✨ Don’t sweat the small stuff

This one is my biggest challenge. I often find myself worrying about little things that I will likely forget the next day.  It is easy to over analyze situations, conversations, the things you said or didn’t say or do. Ask yourself “will this be important a week from now?” Often times, the answer will be ‘no’.

These things may be easier said then done; however, positivity is a practice that should be worked on daily!

Watch, smile, DO!

What foods or products do you DIY instead of buying?

How do you maintain a positive way of life?

Have a fabulous day!

Cheers! xxJ
