After a short plane ride from Pisa, we arrived in London!
We stayed at the Hilton Double Tree in London for two nights. It had a very cool Sky Bar with chic music and creative cocktails. We got a lavender cocktail with limoncello and a rose cocktail with Aperol.

the lavender was amazzzing

And a little snacky before dinner.

For dinner we tried the restaurant downstairs, Natural Kitchen. We shared the detox salad and a burger with cheddar. Yum-o.

We purchased a one day pass to use the metro, also known as the ‘tube’ to get around London. The city was very clean and the people were all pretty nice. The fashion in London is super posh, as they say.
First stop, none other than the famous Abbey Road where the great Beatles once walked across for an album cover photo. We spent about 20 minutes walking back and forth the capture a walk in there footsteps.

It was the Queen’s 90th birthday so we walked to the Buckingham Palace to see the celebration.
We were a few minutes late for her appearance so we missed the royal family, but were able to check out the scene. There were police all over to protect the area. The police were surprisingly very nice, unlike the police you encounter at home.

After walking for a few hours our bellies were getting hungry. We stopped at a pub for some fish and chips ( they call French fries ‘chips’. It did not disappoint. Perfect timing since the rain was coming down.

We took the tube to the Westminster stop to see the London Eye, a huge Ferris wheel looking ride that takes people up and around to see a birds eye view of the city.

And a walk to Big Ben and Parliament.

On our final night in London we were completely exhausted. We were supposed to fly back to Portugal and then fly back home to Miami, but instead we changed our trip to shave off one day to head back home.

Cheerio! xxJ
