Adam and I just welcomed the newest addition to our family…
She is a Cockalier – which is a mixed breed.
She is 3/4 King Charles Cavalier and 1/4 Cocker Spaniel.
Basil was born on August 16, 2016, which makes her about 11 weeks old.
She weighs 3.6 lbs. and will likely grow to be about 12-15 lbs. in her adult life.
Growing up, I always had a family dog…all cocker spaniels. I love the cocker breed and when we saw a photo of Basil, we knew she was the one.
Look at those sweet puppy dog eyes, how could we resist?!
When we started looking into getting a puppy, we wanted to get one from an animal rescue.
We put our name down on the South Florida Cavalier rescue, but we did not want to wait months for a puppy.
You never know what the future holds, but for now, this one pup is enough for us. This is definitely good practice for when we have a human baby, that’s for sure.
Basil loves taking naps,
eating (like her dog momma and daddy),
meeting new people (and was a champ at her vet appointment),
loves giving lots of kisses,
hanging out with her humans,
and she loves playing with all of her new toys.
Basil is quite mischievous as well… She is so fast that she got past us a few times already and ran up our stairs.
She’s so tiny that she squeezed through the baby gate we put up.
It was hard to get mad at her for it, though…
Basil loves all of her new swag!
We got her crate from Amazon Prime
and other items from different pet supplies stores like Petsmart and Pet Supplies.
Do you like my new tag from Petsmart?!
Oh, and my new dress! Gotta keep up with the fashion styles 😉
We can’t wait to watch her grow and give her all of the doggy love in the world!!!
