How cute is this pup?! The hubby and I made our way up to the D.C. area to visit our friends Allie & Bryan, and their dog Trucks.

We started out on our weekend getaway  a little frantically.
Adam drove us to the wrong airport. Whoops! With so many flights over the month, he had a slip up. No biggie. We booked another flight and headed to the correct airport.

We arrived in D.C & had dinner at Le Diplomat to share some French apps and drinks. We ordered sardines, a mushroom truffle tart, beef bourguignon and mussels with fries.

its never to early for pumpkin beer

The next morning I was guest chef to Allie, one of my besties from growing up and roomies during our college years at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
On the menu: vegetable & cheese frittata, gluten free pancakes and homemade strawberry sauce. Holy yum!

she is a fabulous cook!

so fluffy and flavorful

After we filled our bellies we headed out to pick up some food for the day. We stopped at Balducci’s. Best place ever! We scored some sandwiches and cheese and meats.

We went on our way to the Potomac River to hang in tubes for the next few hours. It was AWESOME. So relaxing and beautiful out!
They ordered these great rafts from Amazon and a cooler raft that held all of our drinks and food. We didn’t need to move an inch. It was great!

We headed back to their place and devoured this charcuterie board.

We wined and dined and finished off our delicious sandwiches from Balducci’s.
The next day they brought us to a Mediterranean inspired fast food, Cava Grill, to grab a bite before we flew home.

I followed Allie’s lead and got a salad and grains bowl filled with falafel, all the toppings and hummus of course.

We said our goodbyes and back to Florida we go.
Til next time 😘
Cheers! xxJ✈️
